Travel trends in the year of the rabbit
After Sunday’s extensive celebrations in Chinatown and central London, we at Flemings have been reflecting on what the year of the rabbit will bring.

The twelve animals that make up the Chinese calendar were assigned by the Jade Emperor to establish a measure of time. By holding a race, various characteristics were given to each animal participating. It has since been the custom that each child born in a certain year has the traits of that animal.
Where might your Chinese zodiac sign take you?
Whilst traveling abroad may not always be easy or even possible, we believe there are many ways to celebrate and satisfy your “animal instincts” here at Flemings.

Legend has it that this year’s favoured rabbits are prone to success and therefore veer towards luxury settings. Flemings is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy your surroundings, with a host of cultural attractions on your doorstep – although much too can be said for staying put and enjoying what is immediately on offer! What’s more, with a penchant for philanthropy, we are proud to recommend our ‘pink’ afternoon tea. Indulgent, yes, but you can indulge safe in the knowledge that 20% of the cost will be donated to the worthy Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. China is the land of tea, after all!
For the ox, who values friendship above all else, come and enjoy drinks with our signature Martini soirées. Bring along six friends and get an extra cocktail and slate of canapés with our compliments. If this doesn’t tempt you, why not opt for a girly shopping spree with our shopping voucher offer? Stay in one of our state-of-the-art double or twin rooms over the weekend and reap the benefits of our shopping vouchers to spend at nearby Harrods, Hamleys or infamous Fortnum & Mason.
The snake, pinnacle of sophistication and with a famously curious nature, will love what Mayfair has to offer. With significant artistic offerings and perfectly positioned to enjoy the cultural heritage on our doorstep, take your pick between the gentleman’s grooming experience, the latest exhibitions from The Fleming Collection or even our Royal Bejeweled Afternoon Tea.
For the monkeys’ free spirit and the pigs’ need for nature, nearby Hyde Park and Green Park are perfect spots once the weather picks up for our specially packed picnic hampers.
With a little something for everyone, the rooster, however, might feel most at home with us, demanding the best in all he does. Whatever your leaning, allow our dedicated concierge to help you plan your special stay, wherever it may take you, and help this new year bring you luck and a taste of luxury!
