With the bank holiday set to be a washout we racked our brains to figure out something new to do with all the London museums and galleries very much well worn with rainy afternoons.

And then we realised – why not visit a new country where we can sightsee and try interesting new foods and activities to our hearts content! But where can we go just for one day for some sightseeing, maybe a little lunch and a spot of shopping– well take the train from Dover and then the ferry to Calais – and there the perfect day out and a trip to another country!

If you are not a Londoner and want to make this a proper adventure over to the continent, why not stay in London the night before at Flemings where you can enjoy a delicious dinner at the Flemings Grill, an enormous four poster bed and a decadent English breakfast before your day en France.
