A staple of the festive season has returned to Covent Garden’s magical Royal Opera House this December…

The ballet of E.T.A. Hoffman’s classic fairytale The Nutcracker has been a Christmas family favourite for decades, and the Royal Ballet promises to make this year’s performance just as enchanting and unforgettable.

From the instantly memorable musical score by Tchaikovsky, to the astounding dances of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Rat King, The Nutcracker is a captivating feast for the eyes and ears. Children and adults alike will marvel at the all-important costumes and scenery, which this year will transport the audience back to a traditional 19th century German Christmas.

The unmissable performance of The Nutcracker runs at The Royal Opera House until 18th January.
