We all know how important Chris’ Olympic challenge is to him, really going the distance by trying out every Olympic sport, no matter how challenging. Read on below about Chris’ challenge this week – a sport truly close to his heart…….

“Football, an interesting topic in my life. I used to absolutely love the game and have really fond memories as a young Liverpool supporter of Craig Johnston, Jan Molby and Ian Rush just to name a few, that were not only skilful, but resilient to even the hardest of challenges. I just wish that the game returned to the era when players would not go down even when tackled strongly to prove that they had not been hurt rather than going down to try to fool referees and influence the game (by the way I know I sound like an old whinger – point taken). It is a beautiful game, I would just like it to retain some of the former glory as a sport.
It is superb that GB have a team in this Olympics as that has always been a contentious issue in our country. It is even more disheartening that our nations have struggled to agree in the past considering that team GB won the first ever Olympic football tournament. The tournament this year will be fantastic and will take in some great stadiums, culminating in a final at Wembley – I just hope that team GB are represented in that grand finale and that the nations players can pull together.”
