With Wimbledon close on the horizon, this week Chris tried his hand at one of Britain’s favourite sports….

“Anyone for tennis? With a powerful serve and graceful ground strokes, I danced around the court, hitting soft drop shots and strong forehand winners – what a game! I used to enjoy playing tennis and played for a club until about the age of 10, so some of the muscle memory did come back and assist me. Not quite Olympic standard, but this was a much better effort than some of my previous challenges”.

“Wimbledon hosts the Olympic tennis this summer and it takes place just three weeks after the legendary yearly grass tournament. Rafael Nadal won the men’s tournament in Beijing and is still in good form. There will be five gold medal opportunities, with men’s and women’s singles and doubles, but also a mixed doubles tournament for the first time since 1924. In 1908, when London hosted its first Olympics, Great Britain won all of the gold medals available. Whilst I have doubts in my mind, wouldn’t it be great if that could be replicated this year”.
