It all kicks off today at London Fashion Week 2012. Over the next few days, London becomes the hub of glamour as the top designers, fashion editors, writers and fashionistas gather at Somerset House to feast their eyes on the collections for Spring/Summer 2013. Breath-taking designs and supreme style will wow, dazzle and inspire.
Don’t worry; it’s not all about the exclusive events for big names in the industry. There is plenty going on around London for anyone and everyone with an interest in fashion, design and creativity.
We’ve picked our fashion favourites over the coming days:
- The top shows are tipped to be Burberry (Monday, 4pm), Christopher Kane (Monday, 1pm) and Vivienne Westwood Red Label (Sunday, 2pm). You can gawp via the live stream here.
- Next Wednesday, just up the road from us at Mayfair Music Rooms, there is a fantastic one-day flash sample sale of designer labels and vintage, hosted by Designer Sales UK. You can expect up to a mind-blowing 90% off retail prices, with entry only a couple of pounds. If you want to beat the queues of hungry-eyed shoppers, a VIP fast-track ticket is £25.
- Bid on a designer piece, be it Alexander McQueen or Jimmy Choo, and proceeds go to Save the Children. Hosted by the British Fashion Council and Ebay. Auction ends 23 September.
Escape the hustle and bustle and give your Jimmy Choos a rest in our Cocktail & Tea Rooms. Choose from contemporary gems to classics from our couture cocktail collection.
