This October is all about sweet, delicious chocolate. Chocolate Week 2012 in London is underway with events happening all over, and it’s a brilliant excuse to learn how to taste chocolate.
Introducing…the Chic Chocoholic London Afternoon Tea. At Flemings we have concocted a dream-like creation which will satisfy any sweet tooth in the most sophisticated of ways. But before we tell you more about our cocoa formation, here’s a picture to tempt your tastebuds…
Before indulging your sweet tooth, enjoy freshly-made sandwiches – Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese, Egg Mayonnaise, Ham & English Mustard, Chicken Mayonnaise and Classic Cucumber.
And then let the chocolate take over – we recommend starting with the double chocolate scones. Our home-made praline and gold leaf truffles are as divine as they sound (if we say so ourselves), as is the chocolate delice, pictured above. For a Spanish twist on the traditional British afternoon tea, there are churros served with warm chocolate sauce. Mmm.
There is even chocolate tea. Only in October, you can try a limited-edition tea – choose from Chocolate & Cream Tea, Chocolate Tea or Caramel Tea.
Our two favourite chocolate facts:
Napoleon always carried chocolate with him, which he ate as a pick-me-up whenever he needed an energy boost.
Serotonin which is found in chocolate produces feelings of pleasure.
