The Emirates Air Line cable car over the Thames launched last July to coincide with the Olympics and has been giving us the chance to see London from a new, exciting perspective.

Fun for tourists and Londoners alike – the Thames cable car is something a bit different, offering spectacular views and the opportunity to contemplate life as a London bird.
You hop on and up at Greenwich or the Royal Docks and glide over to the other side. Have a look at the map here. If heights aren’t your thing, either put your brave hat on or go on a nice boat ride on the Thames instead.
We wouldn’t bother with a return journey – once over is just right. Our advice: get a boat down the river to the Royal Docks, fly over the Thames (on a wire) and then have a wander around Greenwich. There’s a brilliant market where you can browse artwork, crafts, antiques and have some tasty food, then head on to the National Maritime and explore the famous Cutty Sark.
If you’re staying with us, speak to our friendly chaps in Concierge and they’ll help you out with anything and everything you need. For those of you who don’t already know, our hotel in Mayfair London is ideally located for you to get out and about exploring London. Yes, we’re right in the centre of it all.
