The BP Portrait Award is opening to the public tomorrow, in its 34th year of showcasing the best of painted portraiture.
Last night the winners of the award were announced at the National Portrait Gallery. The prestigious first prize of £30,000 was won by Susanne du Toit, for Pieter, a powerful painting of her eldest son. John Devane won second place, with another family portrait, of his three children.
We highly recommend you to visit the Portrait Award if you’re in London over the summer. Why not enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Flemings afterwards?
