The London Design Festival returns for its 11th year, showcasing the best of global design with over 300 events and exhibitions.
Promoting London as the creative capital of the world, the festival offers a platform for creative talent accessible to all. For enthusiasts and connoisseurs it is an opportunity to meet with designers, to buy direct from them or even commission a unique piece.
1. Endless Star, Tate Modern, by dRMM
One of this year’s highlights of the London Design Festival is dRMM’s Endless Stair, which will be located in the front of Tate Modern until 10 October. The intriguing installation is made of tulipwood and and is designed to be endlessly reconfigured.
2. A Doll’s House, Domus
To celebrate the opening of its new London showroom, Domus is presenting as exhibition of dolls’ houses from 20 artists and architects. The doll’s houses will then be auctioned in November with money raised going to charity Kids, which supports families with disabled children.
3. Cork Installation, V&A, by FAT Architecture
An installation made of cork will occupy the existing bridge over the V&A’s Medieval Galleries, with tiles laid in a geometric pattern. Through combing cutting-edge technology and inspirational creativity, the installation presents a modern perspective on cork, nature’s most sustainable flooring.
