Crackle crackle, boom hiss, weeeeee pop. BANG.
Everyone loves Bonfire Night. What’s not to love? Getting cosy with your warmest pair of gloves and jazziest hat, gathering round with friends and family and munching on a toffee apple. Leaning back and gazing skyward, saying ‘ooooohhh’ and ‘aaaahhh’ and trying not to jump at the big bangs.
London Bonfire Night this year offers plenty of sparkling options to choose from. Here’s our round-up:
Lambeth Fireworks Display 2013
Tuesday 5th November, Brockwell Park, 5-10pm
The theme this year is The Four Seasons, created by the team behind the London Olympics fireworks, with different zones around the park celebrating each season. There will be lots going on with a fun fair, entertainment and food and drink. Gates open at 5pm and the display kicks off at 8pm. It’s free!
Southward Park Fireworks Display 2013
Tuesday 5th November, Southwark Park, 5-8.30pm
It’s big, it’s fun and it’s free. You can expect plenty of family entertainment, along with hot food and winter warmer drinks, and a brilliant traditional fireworks display which starts at 7pm.
The Lord Mayor’s Fireworks 2013
Saturday 9th November, from 5pm
The Lord Mayor’s Show finishes with a grand fireworks display, starting at 5pm. Get in position early – the best views are between Waterloo and Blackfriars Bridges.
Richmond’s Firework Display
Sunday 3rd November, Richmond Athletic Ground, from 4.30pm
A super family friendly event, this year the display is themed ‘The Best of the Beatles’ with booms and bangs set to iconic tracks. The fireworks probably won’t be too bad either, seeing as the choreographers Phoenix Fireworks won the British Fireworks Championships! Tickets from £8.
